Civil wedding ceremonies are increasingly popular for a variety of reasons. In California, City Clerks are authorized to perform civil marriage ceremonies. In West Sacrament, you must make an appointment for the City Clerk to officiate a ceremony. Complete the online request to secure a date and time.

Three simple steps to get to the big day:

Obtain marriage license from Yolo County
Complete the Civil Marriage Ceremony Request Form.
Receive confirmation from the Office of the City Clerk.

Ceremony Locations

There are three location options for tying the knot. Civil ceremonies can be held in the Council Chambers, on the Second Floor Mezzanine at City Hall, or on the patio at the Boathouse at Bridgeway Lakes. (Note: the Boathouse patio is unavailable for the 30-minute civil ceremonies from June 1st through August 31st. If you would like to rent the Boathouse during those months, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department directly).

Appointments for civil ceremonies are for 30 minutes and are made through the Office of the City Clerk. Civil ceremonies may be scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., depending on the availability of the officiant and the preferred location for the ceremony.

Ceremony Fee: $102.00*
*Fee includes Marriage Commissioner and 30 minutes use at selected location based on availability.
Witness Fee: $30.00
